The Grandparents See Their Royal Grandson For The First Time

The Cambridges have had several family members visit this afternoon. First came Mike and Carole Middleton, who were the first to arrive in a taxi at 3:30 p.m. Carole wore the very pretty in the £355 Orla Kiely Dancing Girls Tea Dress in pebble from the SS12 Collection. A perfect choice, she looked radiant. Carole teamed the dress with Russell and Bromley pumps.

The pair stayed for forty-minutes before they left. The press were informed several minutes before that the pair would speak a few words about the baby.

The new grandparents looked thrilled as they left the Lindo Wing after meeting their first grandchild. Carole Middleton said a few words to the press:

'He's absolutely beautiful, both doing so well. The first cuddle was amazing. We are so thrilled. It's all coming back.'

When asked if they could give the baby's name, Carole smiled and said:

'Absolutely not'.

Michael Middleton left the talking to his wife, although he looked just as jubilant at the arrival of his grandson as she did.

You can watch a video here.

Soon after the Middletons left at 4:15 p.m., rumors started circulating that more visitors would arrive, possibly Charles and Camilla. By 5:25, an increase in security and royal staff were seen lining the streets. Five minutes later, several back cars were seen driving up to the front entrance, confirming suspicion that the second set of royal grandparents were arriving.

As they walked passed the press Prince Charles asked "Have you been here long" (Oh, only three weeks or so...).

They left after thirty minutes at 6:00 p.m. He said "He's marvelous, you'll see in a minute". It looks as if we will.
