The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy at 4.24 p.m. today. The baby weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces. Mother, Father, and baby are both doing well and remain in hospital overnight. The baby boy's official title will be HRH The Prince of Cambridge. He is third in line to the throne and is estimated to be King in around 70 years. A short statement from Prince William said "We could not be happier". The royal couple chose to hold off revealing the birth for about four hours so as to spend some private, family time with the baby to get to know their family addition. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Prince William will be staying overnight with his wife on the ward at St Mary's hospital. Tonight Royal Protection officers were seen delivering takeaway pizza to the Lindo Wing, presumably to give the Royal couple her sustenance after their tough day.

The scene outside the Lindo Wing as the press awaited the news was somewhat dull, to say the truth. The police had established a barrier for the press, at which there were several guards, and the front door was continuously guarded by two officers, although every now and then one would go in, or new officers would arrive to switch shifts.
