Catherine Continues To Delight Crowds As She Completes Two Engagements In Scotland With William and The Prince of Wales

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge completed their two day stint in Scotland with two engagements today.

The couple accompanied Prince Charles, known as the Duke of Rothsay in Scotland, in opening the new Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre at Dumfries House. It is only the second time we have seen the trio conduct an engagement together, the first being a Gary Barlow concert in aid of The Princes Trust. The Prince of Wales reportedly adores his daughter-in-law and is said to be "thrilled but feeling somewhat old at the prospect of becoming a grandfather for the first time". The Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre will provide accommodation for 52 young people and six adults. Weekends will be dedicated to supporting the uniformed services and the centre will also be open to schools across Scotland.
Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by wellwishers  and did a walkabout. Prince William talked to one little girl who had a teddy bear for Kate. He smiled and said "She'll be along shortly, you can give it to her then, she'll love it".

Below is a short description of Dumfries House, which is the home of Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre.

"Dumfries House was built between 1754 and 1759 and is considered one of Britain's most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets. With its sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings, all set in two thousand acres of land, there is something to delight and enchant visitors of all ages. Prince Charles has a strong history with the house; in 2007 the Prince, headed a consortium of charities and heritage bodies to purchase the house so it could remain open and accessible to the public."

The Royals also watched a fly past of three Typhoons from 6 Squadron RAF Leuchars.

Eleven year-old Dayna Miller showed Kate the "Princess Catherine" doll she got for Christmas. The youngster said "Kate looked at it and said 'No! Oh no, is that me? Is that meant to be me? does my hair look like that?'. "Then she asked me where I got it from. She's much prettier in real life".

Catherine takes a moment to chat with her private secretary Rebecca Deacon. (Note the teddy bear mentioned previously in this article.)

Next, William and Catherine visited the Astute-Class Submarine Building at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness. BAE Systems Maritime-Submarines is responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of the seven-boat Astute Class of nuclear powered submarines for the UK Royal Navy. The company is also designing a replacement for the Vanguard Class submarine for the navy. They employ over 5,000 people in total.

Now, for those of you interested in Catherine's style, you might be interested to know that she chose to wear her Armani royal red angora coat that she debuted at William's passing out ceremony at Sandhurst in 2006. At the time, it was a high profile event for her, and she was said to have spent several weeks planning the outfit, which resulted in her looking like the very stylish future royal. For today, the Duchess chose to wear a black dress underneath.

You also might have recognized the gloves as her go-to Cornelia James Pure Wool Gloves With Side Bow. The stylish gloves are available in an array of colors for £52.

Her earring were from one of her favorite jewelry designers, Kiki McDonough. The earrings are green amethyst and are available at http://www.kiki.co.uk/. Other jewelry worn today was the gold brooch she previously wore at the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. It is in the shape of two dolphins and was a wedding gift from the RN Submarine Service, William is Commodore in Chief of that unit.

As a tribute to Scotland, she wore a very cheerful Stathearn tartan scarf. Notably, the Duchess wore the scarf at the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant  and at The Thistle Service in Edinburgh last year.

The look was completed with black tights, a black suede clutch and her tademark Aquatalia 'Rhumba' Boots. The boots are also available in brown at Nordstrom.
